How the Website is Constructed

We personally rode all the rides in the site. Notes were taken along the ride to try to help find the tricky turns and landmarks. I used a Garmin eTrex Vista to gather data for GPS waypoints and maps. The eTrex Vista attaches to my handlebar with a Garmin eTrex mount. I chose the eTrex Vista becaus of 24MB of memory. I lost data on early rides with a unit that only had 8MB. 24MB can easily track an all day ride. I always carry extra AA batteries because the unit can run them down quickly.

Data was downloaded to my Apple Macintosh Computer using National Geographic TOPO! State Series software. Each state is purchased seperatly for around $100.

Photos were taken with several digital cameras and then resolved for web resolution with Adobe Photoshop.
