COMMENTS: Motorcycles suck except when they pack in the banking burms in the E-Ticket wash. In the 60's Disneyland had A though E ticketed rides. E-tickets were supposedly the best. This ride is at best a B ticket. Conditions are rarely optimal since the number of motorcycles have made this barren area a 'small world after all'. STARTING POINT: From Grand Junction, head east on F-Road (Patterson) unitl you reach 29 road. Head north on 29 road and meet an irrigation canal. Immediatly cross the canal and continue straight to cross the freeway. Continue on the frontage road and park in the dirt lot just before the Grand Junction Motor Speedway. TRAIL TYPE: SINGLE TRACK 75%, DOUBLETRACK 25%
APPROXIMATE RIDE TIME: 1-2 hours DIFFICULTY: Moderate with a few technical sections and little climbing
RIDE DESCRIPTION: Head generally North toward the bookcliffs and catch a double track road that ridges northward above a gully to the east. There are many trails in this area, but if you initially go north and then head toward the knotch in the bookcliffs with the electric wires you will be on the right trail. Continue until you see a large hogback with ascending singletrack slightly heading northeast. Another clue is the electric tower directly over the first hogback on the saddle between two bookcliffs. Climb 3 bumpy hogbacks with rolling descents until you hit a double track road. Head south down several hogbacks to the wash. Halfway down the wash there is a memorial cross to your left. Follow the wash until the E-Ticket single track becomes too narrow or until you reach the East-West powerline. Follow the line to a double track and make it to the access road. Pass the motor speedway on the way back to the parking lot. MAP OF RIDE: [HIGH RESOLUTION MAP]
