COMMENTS: Name says it all for the beginning of the ride. The ladders are worth the sweat and the chutes are quite negotiable when the ground is firm. The run out to the corral is fast with a few whop-dee-doos for hang time. Don't miss the return on Superfly.

STARTING POINT: From Grand Junction drive west on I-70 to Fruita Exit (#19).  From the off ramp travel .1 mile then go right to the roundabout.  Continue straight through the roundabout, travel 2 blocks and turn left on Maple Street.  Travel 4 miles north on Maple St. (17 1/2 Rd).  Turn right at   N. 3/10 Rd, travel .5 mile to 18 Rd.  Go north on 18 Rd for 7.5 miles to a parking area on the left.  A carsonite post across the road directly across for the parking area is where the single track begins.

APPROXIMATE RIDE TIME: 2-3 hours

DIFFICULTY: Intermediate with a few technical sections of singletrack.

RIDE DESCRIPTION: Ride up Primecut to the top. You will see the trail go right up a hill. Veer right up first 4 ladders and follow series of chutes and additional ladder climbs until the run-out. Watchout for the second rugged switchback. The run-out is like a groomed blue cruiser for 2 miles to the corral at mile 5.0. Halfway to the corral you will cross the dam of a stock tank. You will return to this spot on the return down Superfly. Go straight past the corral and go southeast to pass a cow pond and turn north toward the Bookcliffs on doubletrack at mile 5.2. 100 yards passed the Edge trail marker you will see the Superfly singletrack on your left going up the hill. Curve your way back, crossing Chutes and Ladders over the stock tank dam. Bomber time! Race to the bottom meeting up with Primecut at the pond (mile 9.2). Ride up the short hill to the parking area.
